Quote Post #51
"The hallways didn't smell like human waste, and the walls were dry, but the place still felt like a sewer. And if he knew anything about Martin Landel, he knew the bastard had no sense of when ironic crossed over into hyperbolic. If it looked like a sewer, there would be pale-white albino alligators, hopped up on the size-queen steroids that all of the fauna around here was addicted to. Maybe they'd be lucky and the wildlife would get bottlenecked by their own girth until they'd half starved to death in the bowels of the institute.
Not literal bowels, though. These walls were entirely digestive-acid free. For now."
- Sangamon Taylor (

"Apparently, Roxas didn't have the same affinity for monsters the way Goku did. The monkey boy understood that some people got scared, though they were mainly women. Huh, was Roxas a woman? See, this was why he patted a person in the crotch, just so there would be no misunderstandings."
- Son Goku (

"Special Counseling? Peter's expression took a turn for the frantic. What else could it stand for? He tried to run through a few candidates, but nothing stuck. Nothing applied so neatly without being ridiculous, because it clearly didn't stand for Super Cuckoo or Spider Cadet. Was he supposed to wear this like some stupid badge of honour? God, just brand it across his forehead, why don't you? My name is Peter Parker and I totally snapped a guy's arm for Mother Landel's. Hail the Smiley!"

"Kurt sat up in bed, almost choking. He had a collared shirt on. A dress shirt. The last time he'd worn a dress shirt, he had been at the Prom with Amanda. Was Landel throwing a prom?"
- Kurt Wagner (

"He'd been enjoying this place so much and now the Gestapo was here ruining it. And it was Gestapo...even if the accent was different he recognized the way they phrased things, the way they dehumanized you with words and looks. A Gestapo man could make you feel like they were capable of doing the nastiest things possible, not because they hated you but because to them you were nothing more than an earthworm.
'And Heil Hitler to you too,' Carter mumbled under his breath as he grabbed a mop."

"You know, I’m going to get out of here and realise I’ve forgotten how to tie my shoelaces at this rate. Don’t they believe in letting people dress themselves here?"

"Franziska was still standing, wearing a look of utter contempt that seemed to be directed in the general direction of the bucket and brushes, but Kibitoshin supposed that was kind of understandable. She was a prosecutor, after all; she'd probably never had to clean a floor in her life*. But then, an infection? He'd heard of one of those (the thought brought to mind a horrible oozing wounds) but he'd never actually had one for himself.
It was true that there was a first time for everything, though, so he did as he was told and sat up, trying to ignore the pain- and then felt silly for it. Why did he always do what she told him to do, anyway? He could think for himself**.
[...]
* Not that he had too many times, either. Cleaning and tidying had been Kibito's job, mainly, though his Ancestor seemed determined to change that under the careful disguise of 'special training'. He'd only fallen for it twice.
** Mostly."

"All this frustration was being taken out on this stupid smeared mess of cheese that was never going to come out, because these people didn't believe in giving out Brillo pads!"
- Klavier Gavin (

Nothing about Ludwig Beilschmidt had struck Indy as particularly distinctive, aside from the man's screwball ideas about being Germany, but he must know other people after a few days. Or maybe one of the four female patients would've noticed his Aryan good looks.

As though his morning couldn't get any more complicated, now he was caught between Kurogane and Fai again. At least, that was what Touya gleaned from the initial question. Good morning to you too, Kurogane--yes I do know why Fai ditched you, but if you want I can pass him a note in math class?
- Kinomoto Touya (

"Don't know if it's anything of note, really! I guess I tended to come to certain conclusions faster than usual. You know, the 'everyone is an enemy to avoid at all costs' type of conclusion! Or, in my specific case, the 'everyone works for Landel's, so let's torture children into spitting out answers' type of conclusion!
Actually, I'm not even sure that's what happened. He did attack me first..."
"Are you in the habit of coming to the conclusion that you must torture children for information?"

"He was such a beautiful creature; odd, but beautiful. He couldn't be called a human. The way he looked at the blood, the fascination, adoration, the need in his eyes spoke volumes about the loss of his humanity. Dexter Morgan was no longer human. Oh, there were shreds of soul left somewhere amid the jumble of his Record, but he could not and would not ever be considered human."
- Grell Sutcliffe (

"If they really wanted to conserve resources, then why had they wasted money making personalized jackets?"
- Guy Cecil (

"Okay, so the battle plan was not to get checked out by other dudes in the showers.
'Other dudes' mostly meaning Castiel."

"Hey, Scott! I just wanted you to know that you got me! I'm one of Ramona's evil ex-boyfriends just like you said, and all I have left of her now is what's written on that note." He shined his light carefully to the table and the note, taking a step back toward the couch towering on its end.
"I was told only a hero could answer the question written on it," he added with another step back, "but I guess it'd be too much for someone like you!"
"All right, let's see what we've got here." Scott snatched up the note and squinted to read it by the light shining through the back of the paper. "'What travels on the Mayflower by day and soars through the air by night?'"
"A flying pilgrim!" Guybrush declared, hopping behind the couch and giving it a heavy shove. With an ominous creak (probably from the aforementioned couch, given that carpet wasn't known for its creaking capacity), the seat toppled onto the higher end of the table, flinging anyone and anything on the other side straight into the air.
"Wait, I don't get i—"

Oh god, were they all Mister World contestants, and Matthew hadn’t been informed? Now that he thought about it, the tall scary guy, Gilbert, and “Japan” all looked pretty good. While Matthew didn’t know much about beauty pageants, he had a feeling that they’d do great on the contest with appearances like that.
And then Matthew looked at the Englishman, and his theory crumbled as quickly as it had formed. Nevermind. He was back to square one.
