"You can't hold them hostage! They're specs--my specs!"

"And they're in my hands, buddy. 9/10th of the law and all that.

What are you, 3?"

"They're only in your hands because you took them."

"Five finger discount. Gotta love it."

"Oh, a German's just another kind of human," he said as he took the drawing from ZEX. "They're from Germany. Back in my time we were fighting them cause this jerk of a sign painter took over their country, but the war's long over now."

- Andrew Carter ([livejournal.com profile] stlg13bomber) [here]

"No point in being picky with seating," he told himself. "It's not like I know anyone, aside from people who probably don't want to sit with me because I called them a kid, or old, or poorly mustached."

- Guybrush Threepwood ([livejournal.com profile] sheepwood) [here]

Despite that, he did notice that his roommate was here, but he decided he shouldn't talk to the boy right now. Hanatarou got nervous enough when he spoke to people with his clothes on, so Sora couldn't imagine what he'd be like in a situation like this.

"What did she expect him to say? 'Oh botheration, old chap. You fist appears to have slipped into my eye socket.' Yes, and next she'd be expecting him to wear a bowler hat and grow a moustache and work slavishly for a bank until a magical flying nanny came to rescue him from his humdrum existence.

Next time he saw him, America was going to pay for that movie."

Considering how this was a man who considered the word 'radian' a grave insult, he shouldn't be surprised. Yet here he was, gaping from behind the mask. "He was only ten years old!! Are you nuts?!"

He paused.

"Why am I asking questions I already know the answer to?"

- Peter Parker ([livejournal.com profile] mustbethesuit) [here]

"No matter how much 0 to the infinitieth power intends to be 1, the quantifiable result is still 0!" Sho yelled as he regained his balance - once again, the enemy was being an acrobatic little attoliter and refusing to stay still enough for him to hit. "Intent =/= deed!" [...]

"Sine!" he shouted as he charged at him again, this time bringing the shovel down sideways in a chopping over-head blow.

[...]

"Tangent!" Peter made a grab for the shovel. "Okay, I don't get how abusing math terminology in a fight makes you feel better. If anything I feel less confident than before."

[...]

"You forgot COSINE!"

"This place, Zelnick decided, was really full of really crazy people.

... Well, okay, maybe that wasn't fair. He'd only met two people so far, but one had threatened to kill him for not being someone else, and the other had gone off about kidnappings and monsters, and he had no idea what was going on, except that the food looked good and his nurse was still calling him by the wrong name.

Glancing around a bit, he opted to sit alone this time, digging into the food with with real enjoyment but cautious of the fact that this place was full of crazy people."
- Captain Zelnick ([livejournal.com profile] captain_hunam) [here]

"Guybrush Threepwood? Really? Indy wouldn't even have named a dog that. And the name was far from the strangest thing about Threepwood's introduction. 'Mighty pirate?' Indy repeated, not sure he'd heard correctly.

The guy said it as nonchalantly as if it were on his business cards, the way someone else might say 'flooring inspector.'"

- Dr. Indiana Jones ([livejournal.com profile] its_the_mileage) [here]

"If this was a hospital, then he was a damn Vulcan all along and Kirk was an Orion slave girl and Spock had grown wings."

- Dr. Leonard McCoy ([livejournal.com profile] hes_deadjim) [here]

"Keman pushed his food around on the plate, hating how awkward the conversation had just gotten. He should have just let Scott's first realization slide and let it end at that. But if wishes were fishes, he'd...be eating a lot of fish right now instead of pancakes.

He preferred the pancakes."

- Keman ([livejournal.com profile] adorkabledragon) [here]

"...You know, it wouldn't hurt you to learn how to defend yourself without guns.

At least, not much."

"I DON'T WANT TO LEARN DEFENCE. I WANT TO SMOKE.

THIS ISN'T FAIR."

"You can't smoke very well if you're dead."

"Is there any reason why a clock would not be on time?"

"Perhaps its hands were full?"

"Oh, don't suggest that. You'll wind the poor thing up."

"But I just wanted to put a little spring in his step~"

"My steps are plenty springy."

"Yet you sound grumpy enough to clock somebody."

"Now, now, now. This is no time to grind his gears."

"I've been watching this conversation for a few seconds, and just thought I'd chime in... is there some minute detail that is failing to strike me? Something about your choice of words is ringing a bell, but it's not quite clicking."

"I believe you're just helping to tick him off."
